As the Port Macquarie region’s premier arts and entertainment centre, the Glasshouse site provides a wealth of storytelling opportuntities – being located on traditional land of the Birpai people, and built over the remnants of various colonial administrative buildings, and subsequently, 19th and 20th century cultural and local government buildings – the site has witnessed almost every aspect of cultural development in the region.

Interpretative elements include the presentation of archaeological artefacts, information and archival document displays, touchscreens and the integration of informative floor inlays, as permanent architectural features. The interpretation is complemented by an extensive wayfinding signage system, which we also also designed and produced.
