Designed and constructed to leading sustainable design standards, The Concourse incorporates multiple live performance theatres, conference facilities, library, and independent retail and dining.

JDA were awarded the task of creating a purpose-built, centralise meeting and ‘ideas space’, to introduce dialogue between Council and residents about practical strategies for sustainable living. Working with Council’s Sustainability Education team, the JDA-lead creative team comprised, an interpretive writer, multi-media specialists, signage manufacturers, commercial joiners and electrical trades.

Elements of the commission included ‘Our City of Sustainability’ – a permanent exhibition space, showcasing the leading sustainable design features and green credentials of the building.

Our design included joinery using sustainable materials and methods; static and tactile interpretive displays, and immersive interactive multi-media.

Custom-made freestanding mobile display units, complete with internal storage, were designed and produced to present updatable, themed narratives around sustainability issues. The units are easily relocatable and can be re-purposed for special events and community days.
